Newcastle United are reluctant to sell captain Bruno Guimaraes to a domestic rival, according to reports in the Brazilian media.
ESPN Brasil (via Sport Witness) claim that the Magpies would be much more accommodating if an offer from abroad were made.
The likes of Barcelona have shown interest in Guimaraes, but recent reports have mentioned Manchester United as a more likely suitor for the summer.

If the Red Devils do make an official approach, though, they would have to stump up a lot more cash for the Brazilian for the Magpies to even consider selling.
Howe has lavished praise on Guimaraes
The 28-year-old has had an excellent season in front of goal, scoring 9 goals and providing 7 assists in 35 appearances.
Speaking after Guimaraes scored and created the second for Nick Woltemade during a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in early October, manager Eddie Howe said:
“I thought we had control of the second half, and we needed a moment to bring us the goal. Bruno’s goal was a moment of magic from an unbelievable player. He makes a difference more often than not.”
Guimaraes is not the only Newcastle star attracting interest
While the captain is reportedly on the radar of Man United, his teammate Sandro Tonali is also believed to be a target for several Premier League teams.
Arsenal showed an interest in the Italian international during the January transfer window, and the Gunners could return with a bid in the summer.
Manchester City are thought to be fans of Tonali too, while Man United themselves have been mentioned as a potential suitor, although there is no chance that they would bid for him and Guimaraes.
It does seem as if the Magpies have a battle on their hands keeping the pair at St James’ Park beyond the end of the campaign.
