Liam Rosenior is on the back foot at the moment, and he gave some prickly responses in today’s press conference.

The goal his team conceded on Saturday was embarrassing from a defensive point of view, and it was put him to that it was maybe down to the new pressing systems he had put in place and mentioned.

“No, I said it’s a new way for my players to press [not a new way of pressing],” Rosenior bristled.

Well, ultimately, what’s the difference Liam?

Rosenior defends pressing comments

“I think if you look at the game against PSG, the goals had nothing to do with our press,” the coach continued.

“Especially the most important goal for me was the third goal. Then it goes from there. I think the press that we had against PSG and in other games has given us the platform of our performances. The longer you get to work at it, the better you’ll be.”

Rosenior also spoke about the quotes from one of the club’s directors that it’s “obvious” that Chelsea are building one of the best teams in the league.
