Tom Brady gives advice on how to be self-confident

Brady recently gave an insight on personal growth and the role of effective coaching. A widely circulated video clip shows him talk about how many avoid being pushed out of their comfort zone. He then talked about the need for heavy pushback from head coaches, and how to develop self confidence as a result. He said, “You need coaches that push you outside your comfort zone because that’s how you grow and that’s how you develop self confidence and self esteem. They push you to deal with failure.”

Brady then emphasized, “You try, you fail. They push you to deal with the failure. You get another chance to go out and practise and practise. Then you succeed and you realise, oh, that’s what I need to do differently the next time. As opposed to the athletes who try something that’s hard, they fail, and now it discourages them from trying the same thing that’s hard again.”

Brady knows what its like to be pushed hard by his coaches, with Bill Belichick pushing him a lot during their time together with the New England Patriots. Brady previously talked about proving everyone wrong even when they doubt you.

Tom Brady’s words of wisdom about NFL Combine

Before becoming the globar star he is, Brady was also once an undrafted college player, and had a really bad performance at the Combine in 2000. He was the 199th overall pick and was chosen in the sixth round of the NFL Draft by the Patriots.

In an Instagram post he made in 2017, he talked about how he was criticized by the scouts after the Combine. The post read, “I found my combine shirt from 17 years ago and it got me thinking. This is what they said about me then….. Poor build, Skinny, Lacks great physical stature and strength, Lacks mobility and ability to avoid the rush, Lacks a really strong arm, Can’t drive the ball downfield, Does not throw a really tight spiral, System-type player who can get exposed if forced to ad lib, Gets knocked down easily”.

He then added, “As @edelman11 always reminds me … “You can prove em right or you can prove em wrong!” Good luck to all of you this weekend!!” Tom Brady keeps giving wisdom so that future football players can be inspired from his own career.
