The San Francisco 49ers could bolster the wide receiver room this offseason after losing multiple receivers in free agency, many of whom missed time last season due to injuries, and a potential starting vacancy. Jauan Jennings remains unsigned, while Kendrick Bourne joined the Arizona Cardinals, and Skyy Moore signed with the Green Bay Packers. Mike Evans and Ricky Pearsall missed nine contests, Demarcus Robinson was suspended three games, Jordan Watkins missed 15 games, and Jacob Cowing sat out the entire 2025 season. Lastly, Robinson is currently the projected starting slot receiver, with a possible competition on the horizon.

According to Jordan Schultz, the 49ers have signed Christian Kirk to a one-year, $6 million deal. The former second-round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft is on his fourth team and entering his ninth year in the league. Kirk primarily lines up in the slot and will compete against Demarcus Robinson for the same role this offseason.

The Houston Texans acquired Christian Kirk from the Jacksonville Jaguars last March. He battled a nagging hamstring injury he initially sustained during training camp, forcing him to miss the first two weeks, and later aggravated it in an October practice, causing him to miss two more. Kirk caught 28 passes for 239 yards and one touchdown in 13 regular-season games, plus ten receptions for 164 yards and two touchdowns in the playoffs.
