The Raptors held their annual open practice at Scotiabank Arena on Monday, an opportunity for thousands of kids and families to take part in fun activities while watching the team go through some light training.
It’s an event that has a lot of meaning for a player like RJ Barrett, who grew up in Mississauga and idolized many players on the Raptors roster when he was a kid. He remembers when his dad, now the general manager of the Canadian men’s national basketball team, would bring him along for different events, giving him a chance to chat with stars like Chris Bosh and shoot some hoops with Demar DeRozan.
