The New England Patriots made a significant splash in free agency last week by signing Romeo Doubs, a wide receiver from the Green Bay Packers.
Even though the Patriots have improved their receiving core, they could still bring in another key player, either through a trade or the NFL Draft.
There are some indications that New England could trade for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. However, if that doesn't happen, it might select a wide receiver with the No. 31 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Pro Football Focus's Gordon McGuinness mocked Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston to the Patriots on Monday.
"The Patriots have already boosted their receiving corps with the addition of free agent Romeo Doubs, but that shouldn’t prevent them from looking at a receiver in Round 1 if the right one is available," McGuinness wrote. "Boston dropped just 3.1% of his catchable targets and caught 76.9% of his contested targets in 2025."
Boston played four seasons of college football at Washington, appearing in 43 games and recording 132 receptions for 1,781 yards and 20 touchdowns. With his impressive height of 6-foot-4, he would make a significant big-play threat for Drake Maye.
