Los Angeles Lakers Star Luka Doncic Made History Against Rockets

On Monday night, the Los Angeles Lakers played the Houston Rockets in Texas.

The Lakers won by a score of 100-92.

Luka Doncic finished with 36 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals while shooting 14/27 from the field 4/12 from three-point range in 40 minutes of playing time.

Doncic also made Lakers history with his performance.

Real App wrote: “Luka Doncic has the most 35-point games in a season for the Lakers since 2006 Kobe.”

Doncic is now averaging 32.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 1.5 steals per contest while shooting 47.4% from the field and 36.4% from three-point range in 56 games.

He will have an excellent chance to win the 2026 MVP Award.

ESPN’s Dave McMenamin wrote (before the game): “Luka Doncic was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for March 9-15.

He had a 50-point game and a game winner en route to averaging 37.3 pts, 11.0 ast and 10.7 reb as LAL went 3-0.”

Doncic And The Lakers Are Rolling

The Lakers are the third seed in the Western Conference with a 43-25 record in 68 games.

They are in the middle of a six-game winning streak (and have won nine out of their last ten games).

On the road, the Lakers have improved to 20-13 in 33 games.

Following Monday’s game, the Lakers and Rockets will face off (again) on Wednesday.

Ryan Ward of Lakers OnSI wrote: “Per Lakers: The Lakers defeated the Rockets 100-92 in Houston. Luka Dončić scored 36 points with six rebounds and four assists in the win.

Dončić now has a league-leading 25 games with 35 or more points this season, passing Kobe Bryant and Jerry West for the eighth-most in a season in Lakers history.”

Doncic is in his first full year playing for the Lakers.

He had been with the Dallas Mavericks for the first six and a half seasons of his NBA career.

Rockets This Season

As for the Rockets, they dropped to 41-26 in 67 games, which has them as the fourth seed in the Western Conference.

They have won five out of their last ten games (and are 23-9 at home).
