Ahead of Chelsea versus Paris Saint-Germain, Ousmane Dembele has been very complimentary about the Blues.
Chelsea welcome PSG and Dembele to Stamford Bridge for the second leg of their last 16 Champions League match-up.
Liam Rosenior’s side find themselves three goals down in the tie after losing 5-2 in the first leg, meaning they will need a miracle to reach the quarter-finals. Chelsea head into the game without Reece James after his latest hamstring injury, making the task at hand an even more difficult one.

Ousmane Dembele claims Chelsea are a ‘great team’
PSG tore Chelsea’s midfield and defence apart at the Parc des Princes last week, while the Blues recently lost 1-0 to Newcastle United. It has left them outside the top six in the Premier League table.
Nevertheless, Dembele still thinks that Chelsea are a “great team” and has said as much ahead of Tuesday night’s game.
Speaking in a pre-match press conference, which has been shared by PSG’s official club website, the French forward said: “When facing a team like this, you have to stay very focused. They’re a great team, a great club.”
Has he seen us lately? 🤣

It comes after Dembele’s teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia said something very similar about the Club World Cup winners after the first leg.
In Kvaratskhelia’s eyes, Chelsea are a “good team”. It was the Georgia international who did most of the damage against them in France, so he is someone they have to try to shut down in the second leg.
Chelsea not even close to being a great team
Chelsea have great players, including the likes of James, Cole Palmer, Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez.

However, simply put, Chelsea are not a great team. Rosenior’s side would not be in sixth place if they were.
A great team would not have capitulated the way Chelsea did at the Parc des Princes either.
The Blues certainly have the potential to become a special outfit in the future with a few additions in key areas. For now, though, this is a very ordinary Chelsea team despite the amount of money that has gone into the squad. There is not a single person who watches English football on a weekly basis who would agree with Dembele’s statement.
