On Monday, in an important matchup against their rivals in the standings, the Houston Rockets, Luka led his team to their sixth straight win, taking a 100-92 victory in Houston.
He finished the game with 36 points (14/27 FG, 4/12 3PT), 6 rebounds, and 4 assists, also reaching a milestone by putting his name in the Lakers' history books.
Luka became just the fourth player in Lakers history with 25 or more games with 35+ points in a single season with the Lakers, joining Kobe Bryant, Elgin Baylor, and Jerry West as the only ones to do it.
Kobe Bryant has two such seasons, having the record with 46 35+ point games in the 2005-06 season, and 28 during the 2002-03 season.
Elgin Baylor has three such seasons, while Jerry West has reached this milestone twice.
This season, Doncic is the NBA's leading scorer, averaging 32.9 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 8.5 assists.
With the win against the Rockets, the Lakers are now on a six-game winning streak and currently sit third in the Western Conference with a 43–25 record.
