Thierry Henry has called out Liam Rosenior for actions before Newcastle's goal vs Chelsea…

Liam Rosenior has been slammed by Thierry Henry for his actions moments before Anthony Gordon's goal in Chelsea's defeat to Newcastle.

Rosenior, who replaced Enzo Maresca as Chelsea manager in January, enjoyed a fantastic start to life in west London as he won six of his first seven matches in charge.

However, they have faltered in recent weeks. The Blues, who were given a record-breaking fine and transfer ban this week for breaching Premier League rules, are set to crash out of the Champions League having been beaten 5-2 by reigning champions PSG in the first leg of their last 16 clash.

They have also won just once in their last five Premier League games, a run that includes disappointing draws to Burnley and Leeds United, as well as defeats against Arsenal and Newcastle.

Reports have now emerged casting doubt about his future at Chelsea, with Sky in Switzerland claiming that 'serious concerns are emerging internally regarding the English manager's ability to lead the sporting project in the long term.'

Thierry Henry Criticises Liam Rosenior For Actions vs Newcastle

Chelsea boss Liam Rosenior

Newcastle beat Chelsea 1-0 at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Gordon scoring the only goal of the game in the 18th minute. Henry was not impressed with Rosenior for turning away from the action in the build-up. He said:

"So the first mistake is don't allow the ball inside (like Garnacho did), correct it after, but the leader on the field (points to Reece James) didn't make it happen, right?

"But I want to show you here (points at Liam Rosenior turning away from the pitch), Liam Rosenior, I've been there, you are disappointed that they allowed that ball to go inside but we are not at a training ground here where you can go: 'Ahh, let's start again'.

"So since you talked about players do not react or they liked to be coached or the coach likes to maybe not give them that freedom, then coach it because there is a mistake.

"He's not coaching it on the field, and unfortunately, I said to you that I've been there, but he's not even looking at what is happening. Goal. Do you understand what I'm saying, it's not easy. That's what they need to deal with and they didn't."

Jamie Carragher Places Blame on Chelsea Players

While Henry pointed the finger at Henry, Carragher said the players are to blame for allowing Gordon to score. He said:

"In terms of Fofana, Chalobah and Reece James, they are all better players than me in almost everything - physically, height, power, pace but I would not have allowed that to happen because I would have made sure that somebody reacted," Carragher stated.

"Stop looking at your coach for instructions. You're a coach on the pitch. That was my job as a player, organising. I was like that from a kid. Sometimes a coach has a plan and the opposition do something different. What the coaches see from the side of the pitch is not what the players are. How can you allow that to happen?"

"We're talking about playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world, costing huge fees. Reece James has been described as being the best player in his position in the world - and rightly so he's a fantastic player - but how they allow that to happen because it wasn't the plan before the game. There is an opposition and we all have a plan."
