Romano Says Club Have Made Transfer Stance“Very Clear”As Arsenal Are Linked With“Ideal”£59M Rated Winger

Paris Saint-Germain have made it “very clear” that they won’t be selling reported Arsenal target Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

There had been some speculation linking the Georgian international with a move to the Emirates, but speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said there was no chance of the player leaving Paris just a year after making the £59m switch from Napoli:

“Paris Saint-Germain absolutely don’t want Kvaratskhelia to leave the club. After 13/14 months at the club – a bit more than one year now – they see Kvaratskhelia as an absolutely untouchable player. So Paris Saint-Germain don’t want to entertain any negotiation.”

“Arsenal want to sign an offensive player in the summer transfer window – could be one, could be two, we will see – also based on outgoings, also based on opportunities. So, Arsenal will do something up front for sure. But what I can tell you is that for Kvaratskhelia, despite appreciating him and probably in terms of skills – if you see the Arsenal squad right now – today would be the ideal player… Probably kind of missing piece in the squad. But the answer I’m getting from Paris Saint-Germain is very clear. They absolutely don’t consider an exit for Kvaratskhelia in the summer transfer window.”

Arsenal could replace Trossard and/or Martinelli

The left wing is an area that is likely to be reinforced at the end of the season, and as Romano mentions, Kvaratskhelia would be an upgrade on the club’s current options.

There is a chance that neither Leandro Trossard nor Gabriel Martinelli will still be with the Gunners at the beginning of the 2026/27 campaign.

Trossard is closing in on the final year of his contract, while Martinelli has been mentioned as one of 8 players who could be sold to balance the books.

Who could be targeted instead of Kvaratskehlia?

Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon is a long-term target for manager Mikel Arteta and Arsenal have been reported as potential suitors for the England international once more over the past few weeks.

Another possible target is RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande. The Ivorian has been scouted by several Premier League clubs after a breakthrough campaign in the Bundesliga.
