Arsenal Weigh Up£112M Double Transfer Raid As Arteta Plans‘Summer Refresh’–Report

Arsenal are keen on signing both Newcastle right-back Tino Livramento and RB Leipzig centre-half Castello Lukeba as part of a “summer refresh”, according to reports.

The Times claims that the two defenders are on the club’s list of transfer targets, but neither player will be available on the cheap.

It is believed that Newcastle will demand a fee in excess of £60m for Livramento, with there likely to be plenty of competition for his signature as well.

Lukeba, meanwhile, could cost at least €60m (£52m), and a combined £112m outlay would probably need to be funded by several outgoings.

Martinelli, Nwaneri and Lewis-Skelly are on the chopping block

As we reported in another article, the futures of Gabriel Martinelli, Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly are uncertain.

However, The Times have also named the likes of Ben White, Christian Norgaard, Gabriel Jesus, Leandro Trossard, Kai Havertz and even captain Martin Odegaard as potential candidates to be sold.

Due to pressures imposed by the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules, it seems several high-profile players could be set to leave. Some difficult decisions will have to be made in the transfer market.

Arsenal also want to strengthen the forward line

Speaking on his YouTube channel on Monday night, journalist Fabrizio Romano revealed that the club are hoping to “sign an offensive player” this summer.

If the budget allows, manager Mikel Arteta would ideally want two new forwards. Combined with the potential arrivals of Livramento and Lukeba, it could be quite a busy summer for sporting director Andrea Berta, both in terms of arrivals and departures.

From the looks of things, Arsenal’s starting lineup next season could look very different, even if the current squad do manage to secure the Premier League title.
