Maxx Crosby is staying with the Las Vegas Raiders after his trade to the Baltimore Ravens fell through due to a failed physical. However, with the 2026 NFL Draft approaching, could other teams call the Silver and Black for a potential deal?

The Raiders are in a rebuild, and while the NFL has shown that these situations can be turned around quickly, it might not be the case in Year 1 under new head coach Klint Kubiak.

As a result, the honest question is whether the team will be ready to compete in Crosby’s prime or once he’s past it. Despite the trade falling through with the Ravens, the veteran pass rusher still has a marketand ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler stated that one team that dreams of Crosby is the Chicago Bears.

“The Bears would like to walk away from the next two months with some edge pressure help or some defensive line help, maybe on an interior rusher, possibly on the outside,” Fowler said onMarch 17 during a “Get Up” YouTube Exclusive video.

“And they haven’t given up the dream of a Maxx Crosby opening if they can try to buy low a little bit now that he’s back with the Raiders. They kicked the tires on it a couple weeks ago. They ultimately didn’t get seriously involved, but he’s the type of player they would love.”

Mike Silver Talks Maxx Crosby Situation

While the Crosby trade speculation might still be alive as the draft approaches, The Athletic’s Mike Silver believes it makes sense for the Raiders to hold onto Crosby for another season to ensure his trade value rises, since he currently has the damaged goods label following the Ravens situation.

“From a business perspective, it kind of makes sense for everybody to kiss and make up right now,”Silver said on the March 13 edition of “Golic & Golic.“ “[Crosby has] got the damaged-goods label based on the Ravens’ assessment of the knee, you know, and the medical situation with it. He’s recovering from the knee injury.

“Anyone who tries to get him from the Raiders is going to be trying to get him cheap. He also probably has to not think about a contract upgrade for this season because of that same thing. So it probably makes sense for everybody to kiss and make up with each other.”

Raiders, Maxx Crosby Staying Together for One More Year

Despite Crosby’s public commitment to the Raiders, Silver doesn’t see this partnership lasting beyond the 2026 NFL season, given the player’s issues with minority owner Tom Brady’s right-hand man, Alex Guerrero.

“Part of the issue in that building, and specifically with Maxx Crosby, is Alex Guerrero,“ Silver added. “That is Tom Brady’s longtime confidant. He kind of carries himself in that building as a combination of being in charge of everything medical, even though he’s not a doctor. He kind of tells players, ‘Hey, here’s what we’re doing transaction-wise,’ which flexes his power or perceived power. And he also is viewed as a direct pipeline to Tom Brady, who’s not around.

“So there are a lot of trust issues, and I would put Maxx Crosby at the forefront of that situation, which has not been a great one. So Maxx Crosby may be saying, ‘Yeah, I’m a Raider. I want to go back.‘ They may be saying it’s cheaper to keep him at this point, and let’s try to all join together. But I still don’t think it’s a great situation, and to me, it seems at most like a one-year renewal of vows.”
