Chelsea midfielder Moises Caicedo has heaped praise on teammate Joao Pedro, describing the forward as “one of the best players in the world” and insisting the Brazilian remains “underrated” despite his growing influence at Stamford Bridge.
Pedro, who has steadily become an important figure in Chelsea’s attacking setup, has impressed teammates with his versatility, often dropping deep to link play while also providing a goal threat in the final third. Caicedo emphasized that this tactical intelligence is what sets the Brazilian apart.
Since arriving in west London, Pedro has faced the challenge of adapting to the intensity of the Premier League, but his performances have drawn increasing praise from within the club. Caicedo believes that as CHELSEA continue to develop under their current project, Pedro’s reputation will only grow.
Asked to name his ‘most underrated’ teammate at Stamford Bridge, Caicedo told Sky Sports: ‘Joao Pedro. People don’t know how good he is.
‘For me he’s one of the best players, not just in the Premier League but in the world. His movement, the way he plays, how he scores goals – for me, as a striker he has everything.’
Pedro’s emergence as a key attacking figure could prove crucial as Chelsea aim to climb the table and re-establish themselves among England’s elite.
And if Caicedo’s assessment is anything to go by, the club may already possess a forward capable of reaching the very top of the global game—whether widely recognized yet or not.
Is Pedro world class?
There’s no doubt the CHELSEA striker brings a modern, well-rounded skill set. He presses aggressively, links play intelligently, and is comfortable drifting between lines rather than acting as a traditional No. 9. In a demanding league like the Premier League, those qualities are highly valuable, particularly in a young, evolving team.
However, being “one of the best in the world” requires more than potential or internal praise. It demands consistent elite output—goals, assists, and decisive performances in the biggest matches.
Players in that bracket dominate games week after week and often carry their teams through difficult moments. Pedro, while promising, has not yet reached that level of influence or statistical dominance
