“Your Son Is Dead” Former Vikings Star Receives Earth Shattering News (Breaking News)

The Minnesota Vikings family and the broader NFL community are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Rex Culpepper, the 28-year-old son of former Vikings defensive tackle Brad Culpepper. Rex passed away over the weekend from injuries sustained in a dirt bike accident in Georgia on Saturday, March 15, 2026, according to local reports.

Brad Culpepper, a second-round draft pick of the Vikings in 1992, played three seasons in Minnesota (1992–1994) before continuing his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Chicago Bears. He later gained fame as a competitor on the reality TV show Survivor. Rex, a former standout quarterback and tight end at Syracuse University, was a high school star at Plant High School in Florida. He overcame testicular cancer in 2018 after undergoing chemotherapy and becoming cancer-free months later.

Vikings Draft Pick Brad Culpepper Mourns Tragic Loss of Son Rex Culpepper at Age 28

Rex’s fiancée, Savanna Morgan, shared a deeply emotional tribute on social media:

“No one expects to meet the love of your life and lose them in only 6 short years after meeting. Rex didn’t always believe in soulmates but towards the end he told me that he didn’t realize what having a soulmate felt like until we felt like extensions of each other. And one thing about us is that we lived every single day like it was our last.

We did every little thing that we set our minds to, between learning new skills and hobbies, and traveling to new places, there was never any free time with us and not a moment spent apart. I don’t regret a single day in our 6 years.”

Rex’s best friend, Victor Silva, also paid tribute:

“He went out doing what he loved most, ripping a 2stroke dirt bike and pushing himself to be better. (He’d want everyone to know he cleared the 60 foot gap plenty of times before some dirt got in his eye 😉).

You may have passed, but you also damn sure lived. For that we celebrate. You live through us now, and we’ll do our best to live it up. I think I speak for everyone that got to know you: thank you.”

Rex Culpepper’s College Career and Personal Resilience

Rex Culpepper was a standout athlete who threw for over 1,500 yards and 11 touchdowns at Syracuse while also playing tight end. His battle with cancer in 2018 showcased his resilience, and he remained an inspiration to those who knew him.
