The Baltimore Ravens’ ill-fated trade for pass rusher Maxx Crosby created ripple effects throughout the NFL.
The Ravens, who pulled out of the trade with the Las Vegas Raiders due to Crosby’s failed physical, pivoted to sign another pass rusher in former Cincinnati Bengal Trey Hendrickson.

The Raiders were left to decide whether they want to keep Crosby or find another trade partner. And they lost the two first-round picks Baltimore promised to send them in the deal.

The trade and its aftermath also had real-world consequences for one Baltimore Ravens fan. Nate, a skeptical 26-year-old from Maryland, posted on X that he would shave his head if the Ravens made the move.

According to a Sports Illustrated report, he posted proof of paying off the promise less than an hour before the Ravens pulled out of the deal.
Nate said he felt safe making the promise because such a big trade is out of character for the Ravens.

“I know how the Ravens are, and they don’t like to trade for big people,” Nate told SI. “And also seeing that they’ve never traded a first-round pick for a player, [I thought,] they’re not gonna do it.”
If the ravens happen to to trade for Maxx Crosby, I will completely shave my head

As it turned out, Nate was correct. But he didn’t know that when he shaved his head.
The results aren’t all bad for the Ravens fan. He got interview requests from ESPN, Bleacher Report, Draft Kings and two Baltimore television stations, according to SI.
Of course, his hair will grow back — eventually.
“I don’t regret it,” he said. “I mean, it’s cold now.”
