Chelsea were crushed 5-2 by PSG in a chastening evening in Paris which had looked very promising for 74 minutes.
The Blues suffered and early setback when Bradley Barcola fired in a super strike. But Liam Rosenior’s team showed impressive fortitude to gather themselves and hit back through Malo Gusto.
Just before half time, Ousmane Dembele scored, but after the break the Blues gathered themselves again and [made it 2-2 through Enzo Fernandez.](https://chelsea.news/2026/03/enzo-fernandez-hits-crisp-finish-superb-pedro-neto/)
This was the point at which they should have shut up shop. But instead a [horror error from Filip Jorgensen](https://chelsea.news/2026/03/enzo-jorgensen-furious-reaction-mind-loses/) gifted Vitinha a goal, and seemed to drain Chelsea’s belief. A late collapse saw them concede twice more, turning a solid result into a disaster in the space of 15 minutes.

Analysis
--------
This was another reminder of this teams’ flaws. They showed great stuff for large periods, but a terrible goalkeeping error cost them. Then a lack of leadership and know-how in the big moments turned a respectable 3-2 defeat into a 5-2 catastrophe.
Last season’s long battle to get into this competition was undone in just a few mad moments. Liam Rosenior and many of his key players leave this game with major question marks over them.
