“A Slight Overpay”: NFL Fans Explode Over Denver Broncos Acquiring WR Jaylen Waddle From the…

The Denver Broncos finished with a 14-3 record last season in the NFL and were the number one seed. Denver had a good offense for quarterback Bo Nix, but there is a chance that it may even be greater this season after just falling short of a Super Bowl appearance.

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix avoids Buffalo Bills defensive end Joey Bosa after scooping up the loose ball that came towards him after running back RJ Harvey’s missed Nix’s toss to him during first half action at Empower FIeld at Mile High in Denver, Colorado on Jan. 17, 2026.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported a major blockbuster trade between the Broncos and the Miami Dolphins and said, “Broncos are trading for Miami WR Jaylen Waddle, per source. Denver receives: Waddle and Dolphins’ 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year’s draft. Miami receives: Broncos’ 1st round pick (30th overall) along with their late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in this year’s draft.” Jaylen Waddle was on the trade block last season. With a new regime in replace, the Dolphins are completely tearing it down and starting all over.

Waddle is under contract for the next three seasons and he is 27 years old. This was a very good move by the Broncos. Many NFL fans were intrigued by this trade on Twitter. This is what some of them said:

Broncos basically gave up a 2nd, 4th and 5th for Waddle and a 4th. Still a slight overpay, but Bo needs the weapon

First Tua, then Tyreek, now Waddle… Miami is officially gutting the house

Now Waddle can run that fade with Surtain in the locker room

Waddle last season with Miami caught 64 passes for 910 yards receiving and six touchdowns, along with averaging 14.2 yards per reception. He was targeted 100 times last season. Waddle also rushed for 28 yards on two carries and averaged 14.0 yards per carry. This is a home run move for the Broncos. The Dolphins are starting all over. Miami could very well be one of the worst teams in the NFL in 2026 as they have their sights set on the future here.
