Rio Ferdinand says Chelsea staff now need to 'help' Liam Rosenior and have a word with him

Rio Ferdinand has some advice for Chelsea and believes it could really benefit Liam Rosenior.

Right now, it looks as though the Chelsea manager could do with some help on and off the pitch.

After a positive start as Blues boss, Chelsea’s form under Rosenior has been really patchy of late. The 41-year-old has also received a lot of criticism for some of the things he has said in press conferences.

Rio Ferdinand thinks Chelsea’s press officer needs to help Liam Rosenior with public image

When Rosenior was recently asked about Chelsea’s controversial team huddle on the halfway line before they kicked off against Newcastle United, he told reporters that his players wanted to “respect the ball”.

What is he talking about? 😵‍💫

He also called out someone at Arsenal for entering Chelsea’s half of the pitch during the warm-up, which did not go down well.

In Ferdinand’s opinion, the Englishman needs some help from Chelsea’s press officer as his image continues to take a hit after each game.

Speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents, the Manchester United legend said: “There’s a lot to be said about your press conferences, that’s what I was saying about Michael Carrick, Michael just tries to swim through it without being tagged.

“I think Liam needs to be, the press officers or the media people at the football club need to help, I think, someone like Liam because less is more in his position.”

At the end of the day, if Chelsea win their matches, no one will really care about what Rosenior has to say or not. The problem is the Blues are not, and it now looks like Rosenior is doing a lot of talking with nothing happening on the pitch.

Unfortunately for the 41-year-old, he could be set for another defeat on Tuesday night. In the Champions League, Chelsea take on Paris Saint-Germain, who have already beaten them in the first leg of the last 16 tie.

Has he seen us lately? 🤣

PSG won 5-2 that night, and that was with Reece James playing for Chelsea. James is going to miss the second leg because of a fresh hamstring injury.

Things could get much worse for Rosenior at Stamford Bridge before they get better. Every bad Chelsea performance and every questionable word in his press conferences will be scrutinised.
