The Las Vegas Raiders’ 2026 offseason has been entertaining, to say the least. They made several moves to bolster the ranks, while starring in a controversial trade featuring Maxx Crosby. The defensive end failed his physical test after the Baltimore Ravens agreed to send two first-round picks to the Raiders, but the move fell apart.
Meanwhile, the Raiders studied options to add to the quarterback room. Fernando Mendoza is a lock to go No. 1 overall in the upcoming NFL draft, but the team wants a veteran to bridge him. Multiple veterans were mentioned as possible options for the AFC West franchise.

On Sunday, Jason LaCanfora of SportsBoom.com reported that Aaron Rodgers could be an option for the Raiders. He could also return to the Pittsburgh Steelers or retire.
“He either goes back to Pittsburgh,” said an exec from one NFL team who has been looking at potential back-up quarterbacks. “Or maybe he tries to get something done with Tom Brady (in Las Vegas), or he hangs it up. He wants to be a starter. It’s down to those two teams… and that’s if the Raiders really him. It’s Pittsburgh or nothing, how I see it.”

Rodgers joined the Steelers in 2025, leading them to the AFC North title. They couldn’t move past the Houston Texans in the wild-card round, but Rodgers made a strong impression.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported last week that Joe Flacco could be on the Raiders’ radar to bridge Fernando Mendoza.
“Joe Flacco, who’s been around, has started a lot of games. He is available. He is weighing options right now. Speaking of Vegas, I’m told that that is an option for him, that they would have interest in potentially bringing him along, as a backup/bridge, if Fernando Mendoza needs to sit a little bit, assuming they draft him, which they will,” Fowler said on SportsCenter.
Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady clashed multiple times when they were in the league. They could join forces in Las Vegas to put the franchise and its quarterback in a position to compete.
