Worldie to get£300k-a-week offer Arsenal offer–Dowman to force superstars EXIT–Fans told signing that could win title

Here is a roundup of the top Arsenal news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice and David Raya that you guys may have missed today…

There have been fresh rumours emerge claiming Arsenal are reportedly preparing to open formal negotiations with midfielder Declan Rice over a new long-term contract, according to a fresh report from TeamTalk

The North London club are said to be ready to significantly upgrade the England international’s wages, with suggestions that he could be offered a package in the region of £300,000 per week — a figure similar to that recently given to teammate Bukayo Saka.

The move highlights *ARSENAL*’s determination to secure the core of their project for the long term, with Rice viewed internally as a foundational piece of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

After joining from West Ham for a club-record fee, the midfielder has rapidly become one of the Premier League’s standout performers, contributing defensively, in build-up play and with crucial goals in high-pressure matches.

TeamTalk reports that preliminary conversations have already taken place, and formal talks could begin before the end of the season. The aim would be to reward Rice for his performances, ensure his long-term commitment, and ward off any potential interest from elite European clubs.

Rice’s impact has been immediate and substantial. His leadership qualities — evident from his time as West Ham captain — have translated seamlessly into Arsenal’s dressing room, where he is viewed as a vocal, reliable figure both on and off the pitch.

On the field, his tactical intelligence and physical dominance have made him indispensable, whether operating as a holding midfielder, a box-to-box presence or an advanced disruptor in Arteta’s fluid system.

Why Rice fully deserves the new contract

From a performance standpoint, the proposed wage increase is fully justified. Rice has not only met expectations following his high-profile move — he has exceeded them. His consistency has elevated Arsenal’s midfield to one of the most balanced units in the league, while his big-game contributions have been crucial in maintaining their title challenge.

Beyond the statistics, Rice’s attitude, professionalism and relentless work rate epitomise the standards Arteta demands.

Few signings adapt so quickly to a club’s culture, but Rice has become a defining figure in Arsenal’s modern identity: competitive, ambitious and technically elite.

If ARSENAL finalise the deal, it will underline Rice’s status as not just one of the best midfielders in England, but one of the pillars of their future ambitions.

DOWMAN TO FORCE ODEGAARD EXIT

Former England defender and television pundit Rio Ferdinand has sparked debate among Arsenal supporters after claiming that the rise of teenage prospect Max Dowman could eventually lead to captain Martin Ødegaard leaving the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Speaking during a recent discussion about *ARSENAL*’s evolving midfield options, Ferdinand argued that Dowman’s rapid development could significantly alter Mikel Arteta’s long-term plans. The Manchester United legend suggested the club may soon face a difficult decision regarding its attacking midfield hierarchy.

Dowman, widely regarded as one of the most promising talents in Arsenal’s academy system, has generated significant excitement within the club’s youth ranks. The attacking midfielder has already impressed coaches with his technical ability, creativity and composure, drawing comparisons with some of the Premier League’s most accomplished playmakers.

Ferdinand believes that if Dowman continues his upward trajectory and pushes for first-team opportunities, Arsenal may have to reassess the role currently occupied by captain Ødegaard

The Norway international had been on the periphery anyway this season due to injury, but Dowman’s breakthrough will only see the competition for places in Arsenal’s midfield intensify moving forwards.

‘You know Odegaard might not get a game now,’ Ferdinand told his YouTube channel when considering the impact Dowman’s coming of age moment could have on the more established members of Arteta’s squad.

‘Seriously, your captain might be gone. You’ve got Dowman who can play his position, Eze can play his position. Saka can play his position and go in there and go central. It’s mad.

‘Saka will have a bigger season next year than he does this year trust me, stats-wise and data-wise. This year he’s been down.’

For now, Ødegaard remains firmly established as *ARSENAL*’s first-choice attacking midfielder and one of Arteta’s most trusted players. The midfielder also signed a long-term contract extension in 2023, underlining the club’s commitment to building around him.

Nevertheless, Ferdinand’s comments highlight the growing attention surrounding Dowman’s potential and the long-term planning taking place at the Emirates Stadium.

Whether Dowman can make the leap from academy standout to Premier League regular remains to be seen. But if his development continues at its current pace, ARSENAL could eventually face intriguing decisions about the balance between established leadership and emerging talent

BIG RAYA MESSAGE SENT

Pundit and former Liverpool star Jamie Carragher has opened up and claimed David Raya could be one of the ‘biggest reasons’ Arsenal win the Premier League, and and Gianluigi Donnarumma has surprised him by blinking first.

Raya has played a key role in *ARSENAL*’s crucial win, making a number of saves while the score was still goalless before two late goals sealed the three points for Arteta’s side.

Meanwhile, Donnarumma has made a few mistakes in the last few weeks that have cost Man City vital points: ‘At the start of the season, I didn’t think there was any way City could win the league because of the goalkeeping situation,’ Carragher said.

‘No one wins a Premier League without an absolutely great goalkeeper and there’s no doubt about Donnarumma, a Champions League winner who won the Euros with Italy.

‘They’ve got a goalkeeper who can win the league. before they signed him, there was no way they could win a league without signing someone of that calibre.’

‘Absolutely and I think most of us favoured Donnarumma didn’t we because of his experience and the fact he’s been there before. But there’s no doubt that Donnarumma blinked first. He made an error, corners can be difficult for goalkeepers now but that wasn’t really the case here.

‘He wasn’t knocked out of the way or blocked, it was just really poor from the goalkeeper, he just gets it wrong and misjudges the flight of the ball.

‘That was the goal that brought it back to 1-1 and Man City couldn’t go on to get that winning goal.’

Carragher added: ‘Listen, we think Arsenal are going to go on to win the Premier League.

‘If they do, he [Raya] has been one of the biggest reasons why. Not just this season, but the actual signing and changing Aaron Ramsdale for him. That save when the game was 0-0, it was absolutely brilliant goalkeeping and kept the score goalless and we all know what happened at the end of the game.’
