Vincent Kompany and David Silva are both Manchester City legends. So when the Spaniard was asked about his former colleague at Bayern Munich, he had nothing except praise for the Belgian.
“Even back when he was a player, you could tell he wanted to be a coach,” said Silva (via [@iMiaSanMia](https://x.com/iMiaSanMia/status/2033539349208289376?s=20)). “He analyzes everything very precisely, has a way of communicating with the players, and is doing an outstanding job overall.
“He’s definitely a contender for the Champions League title. I’m very happy for him,” he added. “He has everything under control, he thinks deeply about things, and works incredibly hard. Vincent always had the makings of a coach, and now he’s landed at a club like Bayern, which is used to winning — an ideal combination. He’s young, hungry, and pays attention to every detail.
“At the same time, he instills confidence in his players. You can see that in the fact that everyone is pulling in the same direction. Bayern’s results and this desire to always want to top them are a very strong trademark of his.”
As Bayern Munich gear up to face Atalanta in the Champions League for the second leg, Kompany is getting extra plaudits from all corners. Now will those plaudits convert to congratulations at the end of the season? We’ll have to see.
