The Cincinnati Bengals have been searching for answers on defense for three years now.

To make matters a bit worse, they lost their All-Pro pass rusher Trey Hendrickson to a division rival. Hendrickson signed a four-year deal worth up to $120 million with the Baltimore Ravens including $60 million fully guaranteed and a $20 million signing bonus.

With the loss of Hendrickson, the team could use some pass rushing help.

“Al Golden’s Bengals defense still needs rotational pass-rushing help. It also continues to need veteran leaders to help along the likes of first-round projects like Myles Murphy and Shemar Stewart.” Chris Roling wrote in a Bengals Wire article.

Cameron Jordan May Be a Target for Cincinnati Bengals

One name that is still out there in free agency is New Orleans Saints pass rusher Cameron Jordan. Cameron Jordan is an eight-time Pro Bowler with the New Orleans Saints. He is a three-time All-Pro Selection. His name is regarded highly around the league.

“Jordan might turn 37 in July, but he’s still plenty productive: He just had 10.5 sacks last year. He ranked 24th out of 115 edges at PFF. Roling wrote.

“If the price is right, one would think the Bengals might overlook their old rules around age in free agency, given the blend of rotational production and mentorship Jordan could bring.”

Though Jordan would be a good asset to Cincy, he is getting up there in age. Jordan will be turning 37 this year. Cameron Jordan was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the first round (24th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft.

The 36-year-old veteran has played 263 games in his career with 495 solo tackles in his career. He has recorded 132 sacks, 17 forced fumbles, and 763 total tackles in his illustrious career.

Jordan could help booster the Cincinnati Bengals’ pass rush considering the moves the Bengals have already made.

Cincinnati Bengals’ Defense and Latest Signings

Cincy has already made a move to improve their pass rush. The Cincinnati Bengals signed DT Jonathan Allen to a two-year, $26 million contract worth a maximum of $28 million.

“The Bengals are signing veteran DT Jonathan Allen to a two-year, $26 million deal, per source. Max $28M with incentives,” Pelissero wrote on X.

Last season with the Vikings, Allen ended up playing in all 17 games. In his only season with the Minnesota Vikings, he racked up 68 total tackles to go along with 3.5 sacks and a fumble recovery.

Former Seattle Seahawks defensive end Boye Mafe agreed to a three-year, $60 million deal with Cincinnati. The Bengals also added former Kansas City Chiefs safety Bryan Cook on a three-year, $40.25 million deal.

These moves will go a long way considering what Cincinnati has been for the past few years defensively.

The Cincinnati Bengals ranked 26th in passing defense in 2025. Their inconsistent play in the secondary has lost the team a lot of games. They ranked 31st in total defense in 2025 and 32nd in rushing defense which is dead last. Cincinnati allowed 380.9 yards per game and gave up 60 total touchdowns.

In 2024, the Bengals ranked 25th in total defense. They ranked 21st in passing defense and 19th in rushing defense. Cincinnati allowed 25 points per game in 2024 and gave up 348 yards a game to opposing teams.
