Specifics of Igbinoghene’s contract were not announced. The Athletic’s Michael-Shawn Dugar reported Saturday he had agreed to a one-year deal with the team.
“I feel like I fit the defense and fit the team perfectly well,” Igbinoghene said via Seahawks.com’s Ari Horton. “Everything about this culture, about this team, and this team is a championship team. I’m a champion at heart, so I’m glad to be a part of it and see what happens.”
Igbinoghene was a first-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in 2020. The Auburn product spent his first three seasons with the Dolphins before joining the Dallas Cowboys in 2023 and the Commanders in 2024. He provide depth to a Seahawks cornerback room that is without a clear No. 3 option following the departure of Riq Woolen in free agency.
Igbinoghene received his most playing time when he appeared in all 17 games and made 10 starts for the Commanders in 2024. He primarily played as Washington’s nickel corner, totaling 695 snaps in the slot to 178 on the outside, per Pro Football Focus. His 55 tackles and seven passes defended that season were career highs.
