Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star guard Anthony Edwards has a right knee injury and will be out for at least a week. The team said an MRI showed inflammation in his right knee.
Edwards will be medically re-evaluated in one to two weeks, the Timberwolves said. So, he’ll miss Tuesday’s game vs. the Suns, Wednesday’s vs. Utah, Friday’s vs. Portland and Sunday’s at Boston. His absence could extend further.
KSTP Sports hears that more than anything, Edwards needs rest. There’s nothing structurally wrong with his right knee.
He suffered a hamstring injury in October.
Edwards has already missed 10 games this year. If he misses two weeks, he will be at the 65-game minimum for awards if he plays the rest of the season from there. But if he misses more than that, he’d be another player to miss end-of-season awards this year.
