Colts signed Jerry Tillery to the team

The Indianapolis Colts continue to make additions to the roster.

It was announced that the team signed defensive lineman Jeffery Tillery, who spent last season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Tillery recorded 1.5, 20 tackles and a forced fumble for the Chiefs in 17 games played (the D-lineman started 3 games) in the 2025 season.

A former first-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Chargers, the defender has recorded 14 sacks and 195 tackles.

Adding Tillery gives the Colts depth on the interior defensive line, with departures occurring this offseason. This will be the defensive lineman’s fourth team in four seasons.

Colts contributing writer Amanda Foster noted that Jeffery Tillery will reunite with former Collegiate teammate Quenton Nelson, who both played at the University of Notre Dame from the 2015 – 2017 collegiate seasons.

The Indianapolis Colts have made numerous moves on the defensive front 7 this free agency, reinforcing the position despite the losses — Kwity Paye and Samson Ebukam.

Indy added Arden Key on a two-year, $20 million deal. Key has recorded 30.5 sacks in his career and has logged 16.5 in the last three seasons with the Tennessee Titans.

The team added former New York Jets defensive lineman Michael Clemons to a three-year deal.

And now, Indianapolis has added Jerry Tillery to the team. The terms of the contract have yet to be revealed.

Colts general manager Chris Ballard said that at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine, the defensive front 7 would be a priority in making the team younger and faster. While these additions aren’t screaming younger and faster, it revamps the defense for coordinator Lou Anarumo.

The team still has plenty of money to go and make younger additions, or it can focus on the defensive front in the upcoming draft.

Jerry Tillery isn’t the only recent defensive addition for the Indianapolis Colts.

NFL insider Tom Pelissero revealed that the team is adding cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt. The terms of the contract have yet to be revealed.

Former Bengals CB Cam Taylor-Britt is expected to sign with the Colts, per source. He visited today and now is set for a reunion with DC Lou Anarumo.

As Pelissero mentioned in his post, Taylor-Britt will reunite with his defensive coordinator, Lou Anarumo, who were both with the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2022- 2024 seasons.

While injuries knocked the cornerback for half the season in 2025, Taylor-Britt played his best seasons under Anarumo. The CB logged 7 interceptions, 33 pass deflections, and 182 total tackles (3 seasons with 50 or more tackles) under the defensive coordinator.

Cam Taylor-Britt will be a rotational piece for the Indianapolis Colts, as Sauce Gardner and Charvarius Ward will be the two starting cornerbacks in the 2026 season (both CB’s are coming back from injuries).

Reunited with his former defensive coordinator, the cornerback could be set to return to his previous level of play with the defensive playcaller.
