Chelsea Fans Boo and Mock Owners as PSG Score Twice in Disastrous UCL Second Leg First Half

Chelsea needed to make history in their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 second leg against Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday. They had lost the first leg at the Parc des Princes 5-2. But the first 45 minutes were a nightmare for the home fans, as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bradley Barcola scored goals that put the Blues down 2-0 on the night and 7-2 on aggregate.

After the two quick goals, Chelsea’s players seemed to lose focus and couldn’t find a way through PSG’s strong defence. They also couldn’t put together coherent plays. Fans were clearly upset in the stands, as they booed more in the first half than their team had shots on target.

When Chelsea fans in the Matthew Harding Lower sarcastically chanted “shoooot” every time PSG had the ball, it showed how unhappy they were with their own team’s lack of attacking chances. This was arguably one of the worst things that had ever happened to a fanbase that had been going through a lot of trouble since BlueCo took over.

One of the most direct attacks on the current owners, who have been criticised for their controversial hiring practices, came when fans chanted “Roman Abramovich, Roman Abramovich” loudly and passionately. Since BlueCo took over Chelsea from Abramovich in May 2022, the team have spent nearly £1.5 billion on player transfers.

Chelsea fans have sung Abramovich’s name before to show their anger at the current owners. They did so during a game against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium earlier in January 2026. Fans have protested angrily outside Stamford Bridge before, chanting slogans calling for BlueCo to leave the club.

Liam Rosenior May Have Lost Chelsea Fans

Earlier this season, Rosenior told the fans at Stamford Bridge to be patient, but it seems that they have lost all patience. There have already been reports that the club’s higher-ups are worried about Rosenior’s future and that some people think he might not be in charge next season.

Chelsea fans had already booed and jeered the team after they lost 1-0 at home to Newcastle United just three days earlier. This was the first time the Magpies had beaten Chelsea at home since 2012. The team haven’t won any of their last three Premier League games, which has dropped them out of the top five and put their chances of qualifying for the Champions League in serious danger.

Chelsea still have to play the second half at Stamford Bridge, and they could lose the aggregate match in a very embarrassing way that could define the rest of their season and make calls for big changes at the club even louder.
