Khvicha Kvaratskhelia gave Mamadou Sarr a Champions League debut to forget
Chelsea Football Newsletter
Chelsea were comprehensively dumped out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage with an 8-2 aggregate defeat to defending champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Attention will turn quickly to Saturday’s crucial Premier League game at Everton.
Dom Smith was at Stamford Bridge to rate the Chelsea players’ performances…
Robert Sanchez 4
Conceded twice early on, and though he did make one or two good saves, his distribution was also lacking.
Trevoh Chalobah 4
Found it very difficult to keep Barcola and Ousmane Dembele at bay. Then desperately unfortunate as he was stretchered off late on with an injury.
Given a torrid night by Kvaratskhelia as he filled in at right-back where he never really looked comfortable. Subbed at half-time.
Jorrel Hato 5
Did reasonably well at centre-back, where he has not played much football this season. Rosenior is clearly a fan of the Dutchman.
Marc Cucurella 5
Brought off late on, having been given the runaround by the visitors’ fluid attack. A case of him being rested.

Andrey Santos 3
Gave the ball away for the second goal and did not close down Mayulu for the third. A poor night all round was also a poor night for Santos.
Part of a Caicedo-Santos double act at fault for goals two and three. That said, did far more than the Brazilian in the game and almost scored a consolation after the interval.
Cole Palmer 4
Had very little impact for Chelsea. Tried to make things happen but simply could not. Became frustrated.
Enzo Fernandez 5
Anonymous really. Didn’t contribute much from the No10 position on a night when Chelsea were well beaten.
Pedro Neto 5
Tried his best to make inroads down the right but PSG was imperious once more.
Joao Pedro 6
As likely as any Chelsea player to find the net, denied by a save and then firing wide. Rested after that.
Subs:
Josh Acheampong (Sarr, 46’) 5
Did reasonably well when he came on for Sarr at right-back at half-time.
Alejandro Garnacho (Palmer, 59’) 6
The brightest Chelsea player on a dark night for the Blues. Full of energy when he came on.
Liam Delap (Joao Pedro, 59’) 5
The striker took up some good positions but his finishing was off once more.
Romeo Lavia (Fernandez, 59’) 4
Given a tough job in midfield late on. Did OK without being spectacular.
Tosin Adarabioyo (Cucurella, 71’) 4
Was alright when he came on for Cucurella with 19 minutes to go in a contest already well over.
