Indianapolis Colts: Set to Land 8-Interception CB, Reuniting With DC

The Indianapolis Colts could bolster the cornerback room after allowing the second-most passing yards last season, while multiple players missed significant time due to injuries. Sauce Gardner missed three games with a high calf strain, while Charvarius Ward missed ten due to three separate concussions, Kenny Moore II sat out three with an Achilles/calf injury, Jaylon Jones missed seven due to a hamstring injury, and Justin Walley sat out the entire 2025 season because of a torn ACL. Ward is expected to play in 2026 after contemplating retirement this offseason, and the Colts have yet to move him following the remaining $7.8 million guaranteed salary that triggered on Sunday, bringing his total guarantees to $12.98 million.

According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Colts are expected to sign Cam Taylor-Britt, reuniting with defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo in Indianapolis. The former second-round pick, entering his fifth NFL season, brings both starting experience with 43 starts, depth, and playmaking ability with eight career interceptions and 41 pass breakups, including the playoffs. Taylor-Britt hopes to return to his 2023 form, when he recorded a career-high four interceptions while allowing an impressive 78.0 passer rating.

Cam Taylor-Britt started every game in 2024 but was benched in-game multiple times due to his struggles. He recorded three interceptions, one pick-six, and a career-high 16 pass breakups while allowing 734 passing yards, six touchdowns, and a 98.0 passer rating.

Cam Taylor-Britt began 2025 as the starting cornerback, but a hamstring injury suffered in practice leading up to Week 3, followed by his struggles, resulted in him losing the starting gig and being a healthy scratch once before a season-ending Lisfranc injury in Week 11 cost him the final seven games. Taylor-Britt failed to record an interception and posted five pass deflections while allowing 241 passing yards, four touchdowns, and a measly 134.1 passer rating across eight games and two starts.
