United States vs. Spain final score: Americans finish FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifiers with…

The USA Basketball women’s national team defeated Spain 84-70 in the FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament in San Juan on Tuesday.

Spain led for short stretches in the first quarter, but again, the Americans were dominant from there, leading by double digits throughout the second half. The lead expanded to as many as 19 points in the fourth quarter.

Washington Mystics forward Kiki Iriafen played sparingly in the game but still scored 2 points. Kahleah Copper led Team USA with 20 points. For Spain, Raquel Carrera and Megan Gustafson scored 15 points each.

The Americans’ pool of games in the World Cup Qualifiers is now complete. We’ll see if Iriafen, or maybe Sonia Citron get a chance to play for Team USA this fall in the World Cup itself. You can watch highlights below.
