Steve Kerr regrets scolding the 'wrong guy' in viral Podziemski turnover

The Warriors coach admitted that he was wrong for blaming and becoming angry on Will Richard after Brandin Podziemski's horrible pass.

In his appearance on 95.7 The Game's Willard & Dibs, Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr expressed regret after his viral outburst against Will Richard from last weekend's 110-107 loss against the New York Knicks.

Particularly, Kerr is remorseful for blaming Richard after it was obviously observed that Brandin Podziemski committed the turnover upon a bad pass.

“That was an unfortunate one, I blamed the wrong guy on that one,” Kerr said. “I was upset about Will’s two turnovers in a row because he had gotten a foul for a push off just before. But the angle that I had from the bench.

"I thought he could have corralled it, I should say – then I saw it on tape later and I saw he was trying to save it from going out of bounds, and it was really [Brandin Podziemski’s] fault on the pass itself.”

After a Knicks turnover during the final minutes of the first half, Podziemski threw an outlet pass that was too long for Richard. Richard attempted a behind-the-back pass to save the ball from going out of bounds, which resulted in a turnover.

Kerr was caught irate over the play that was made by the rookie.

“Turnovers are my No. 1 pet peeve. We had nine turnovers in that second quarter,” Kerr added. “I probably took it out on Will when I should have taken it out on the whole team, and that particular play was Brandin’s fault, and I acknowledged it at halftime.”
