The San Antonio Spurs star reflected in his second game against his former team and admitted that while he is happy to see familiar faces, he treated the matchup as simply nothing but normal.
“No, it’s just another game for me," he told reporters after a 15-point performance to help the Spurs' 132-104 win. "Like I said, we’re focused on ourselves and trying to win a championship.
"Of course, it’s nice coming back here to see people I’ve known for so many years, but once we get on the court, it’s just a normal game.”
Fox was traded by Sacramento to San Antonio during the 2024-25 midseason. As the star guard didn't commit himself to a contract extension, the Kings decided to pull the trigger and send him to the Spurs.
The trade exit of Fox marked another rebuild season for the Kings. Fox has only seen one winning season in Sacramento since he was drafted as the fifth overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft.

But right now, Fox remains steadfast in his new chapter with the Spurs. As the Kings have pivoted to a new direction, he is now aiming to aid San Antonio's title hunt with Victor Wembanyama leading the way.
