£130M star told join Chelsea–£150M star will be tempted by move–Chelsea target tipped to leave London rivals

Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and rumours that you may have missed….

Julián Álvarez has been advised to reject a potential move to Arsenal and instead favour a transfer to Chelsea by pundit Ally McCoist, as speculation grows over the Atlético Madrid striker’s future.

Interest from England has intensified in recent weeks, with both Arsenal and CHELSEA monitoring the striker’s situation. Reports suggest the Spanish club could demand a fee in the region of £129 million if they were to consider a sale this summer.

Former Scotland international McCoist believes Álvarez should seriously consider Stamford Bridge rather than Arsenal if he decides to leave Spain. Speaking about the forward’s future, the pundit argued that Arsenal’s attacking depth could limit the Argentine’s chances of becoming a central figure in the team.

McCoist suggested that the competition for places in Mikel Arteta’s squad might replicate the rotational role Álvarez previously experienced at Manchester City. At Arsenal, he would have to compete with several established attacking players, potentially restricting his opportunities to start regularly

“They’re playing Kai Havertz, sometimes as a false nine, Gabriel Jesus is through the middle, and Leandro Trossard has played there. Alvarez is a real talent. As I say, it would surprise me to see him coming back. But in terms of where he went, I think he’d probably get more game time.”

He added: “And you know something? Chelsea might appeal to him because of that, because of those factors you’ve mentioned, particularly the one about a young side with a lot of potential. If he came to Arsenal, they still haven’t got over the line at this moment in time.

‘I think they will, and I think they will in a couple of years, but it’s a big six weeks coming up for Arsenal, there’s no doubt. You look at the size of Arsenal’s squad; it’s absolutely massive. So, he’s probably got a better chance of getting more regular playing time with Chelsea.”

CHELSEA have invested heavily in young attacking talent in recent transfer windows under the club’s current ownership, but they have at times struggled to find a consistent goal scorer. A player with Álvarez’s work rate, movement and finishing ability could provide the cutting edge the club has been searching for.

PALMER TIPPED TO LEAVE CHELSEA

Speculation linking Cole Palmer with a sensational move from CHELSEA to Man United has intensified after former England winger Chris Waddle suggested the forward could be tempted by the chance to join the club he supported growing up.

Palmer has emerged as one of Chelsea’s most influential players since joining from Manchester City in 2023 for around £40 million. but Waddle recently claimed the England international could find it difficult to ignore interest from United should the Old Trafford club make a serious approach.

According to the former Tottenham and England star, Palmer’s childhood support for the Red Devils could make the prospect “very tempting,” even though a deal would be controversial given the rivalry between the clubs.

Speaking exclusively to Ozoon, Waddle said: “Palmer is definitely a talent, and I’m a big fan. I know he’s had patches and hasn’t been consistent since he went to CHELSEA. Whether it’s off-the-field issues or unhappiness in London, we don’t know, only he can answer that. Chelsea have a massive squad, so he’s rested, played, rested, and brought on.

‘He probably wants to play every game, as players do. If he’s a Manchester lad and supposedly a United fan, I’m sure he’d be very tempted,” Waddle explained.

He added: “However, with Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes, you can only play so many creative players. Will he get in the team? Most teams, you’d say yes, but Fernandes and Cunha are in good form right now. Yes, Cunha can play further forward, on the left, or on the right, but he likes to roam.

‘So, where would you play Palmer? But as I said earlier, United will have to clear the decks. There are a few aged players they’ll probably look to get rid of.”

Will Cole Palmer actually leave?

The midfielder is also tied to a long-term contract at Stamford Bridge, reportedly running until the early 2030s. That deal gives CHELSEA significant leverage and signals the club’s commitment to keeping him as a focal point of their attack.

From Palmer’s perspective, regular minutes and a starring role in west London have accelerated his development and boosted his standing with the England national football team setup. A move away at this stage would risk disrupting that momentum.

While United continue to monitor emerging Premier League talent, any move for Palmer appears highly unlikely in the near future as Chelsea remain determined to keep their brightest young star

ODEGAARD TO LEAVE ARSENAL?

Former England defender and television pundit Rio Ferdinand has sparked debate among Arsenal supporters after claiming that the rise of teenage prospect Max Dowman could eventually lead to CHELSEA target Martin Ødegaard leaving the club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Speaking during a recent discussion about Arsenal’s evolving midfield options, Ferdinand argued that Dowman’s rapid development could significantly alter Mikel Arteta’s long-term plans. The Manchester United legend suggested the club may soon face a difficult decision regarding its attacking midfield hierarchy.

Dowman, widely regarded as one of the most promising talents in Arsenal’s academy system, has generated significant excitement within the club’s youth ranks. The attacking midfielder has already impressed coaches with his technical ability, creativity and composure, drawing comparisons with some of the Premier League’s most accomplished playmakers.

Ferdinand believes that if Dowman continues his upward trajectory and pushes for first-team opportunities, Arsenal may have to reassess the role currently occupied by captain Ødegaard, who has been linked with a shock move to CHELSEA in recent months.

The Norway international had been on the periphery anyway this season due to injury, but Dowman’s breakthrough will only see the competition for places in Arsenal’s midfield intensify moving forwards.

‘You know Odegaard might not get a game now,’ Ferdinand told his YouTube channel when considering the impact Dowman’s coming of age moment could have on the more established members of Arteta’s squad.

‘Seriously, your captain might be gone. You’ve got Dowman who can play his position, Eze can play his position. Saka can play his position and go in there and go central. It’s mad.

‘Saka will have a bigger season next year than he does this year trust me, stats-wise and data-wise. This year he’s been down.’

Could Chelsea sign Odegaard?

I Dont like to talk much about Arsenal players, but if you asked me 12 months ago if i would like Odegaard at CHELSEA, i would say yes, he was brilliant last season. But now, i would much prefer to see Dowman signed than the injury prone Odegaard.

We cant see him arriving here in the the future
