Chelsea clarify stance on Enzo Fernandez following controversial comments after defeat to PSG

It was panic stations at Chelsea for numerous reasons yesterday, however Enzo Fernandez’s comments about his future brought even more concern about the clubs future.

Fernandez refused to rule out leaving Chelsea at the end of the season following the club’s exit from the Champions League against PSG.

The World Cup winner scored in the first leg and was one of the star performers, however was forced to suffer like the rest of the fanbase as the holders decimated the Blues at Stamford Bridge with an 8-2 aggregate win.

Do you think Chelsea should sack Liam Rosenior? Or are you willing to give him more time?🤔

Chelsea not open to making a loss on Enzo Fernandez

Liam Rosenior wouldn’t comment on the situation, although Ben Jacobs has confirmed that a move to Spain would tempt Fernandez, there have currently been no approaches to the Blues.

He said: “Chelsea won’t sell Enzo for a book loss and there has been no approach for him to date. However, sources say the Argentine would be tempted by a move to LaLiga if the right offer materialised.”

Real Madrid have been longtime admirers of Fernandez, with last night’s opponents another side who are reportedly keen on signing him.

There is also interest in Saudi Arabia, with those clubs more likely to offer the lucrative financial offer that would see Chelsea willing to part ways.

Fernandez fumes at Champions League exit

Fernandez raged at Filip Jorgensen in the first leg after his nightmare performance in the first leg, and he let his anger be seen again at Stamford Bridge.

The Argentine let rip on the Chelsea defence which struggled greatly against the PSG attack for the second week in a row.

The example was not great when taking into consideration that he had the captain’s armband last night.

It is hard to imagine Reece James indulging in that conduct, and there is an overall feeling of disappointment at how Fernandez carried himself last night.
