Trevoh Chalobah posts gruesome picture on Instagram and tells Chelsea fans his'ankle should be broken'

A bad night got even worse for Liam Rosenior and Chelsea when Trevoh Chalobah was stretchered off the pitch in the final few minutes, as the Blues lose 8-2 on aggregate to PSG and 3-0 on the night.

The Chelsea support created a stunning atmosphere before the game in an attempt to help their team pull off a miracle and overturn the 5-2 first-leg deficit. But PSG taught Chelsea a lesson, winning 3-0.

A bad night that came after a dismal week for Chelsea. A third straight loss, Reece James ruled out for two months, and then, Chelsea being handed the Premier League’s biggest-ever fine of £10.75m.

Mamadou Sarr endured a nightmare with Senegal stripped of their AFCON title and making a mistake for Chelsea’s first. But for Chalobah, the defender was stretchered off and it looks like it is a bad ankle injury.

Trevoh Chalobah sends message to Chelsea fans on Instagram

England international Chalobah has been one of Chelsea’s best players under Rosenior. So much so, that there were genuine chances of making the World Cup squad. Thomas Tuchel was in attendance last night.

But the injury is likely to end those chances. However, Chalobah was philosophical on Instagram following the loss, posting a gruesome image of his ankle pointing the wrong way after a duel with Achraf Hakimi.

Chalobah told supporters that his “ankle should be broken” but told the fanbase that Chelsea will “stick together” after what has been a tricky part of the season for the Blues, and new manager Rosenior.

What Liam Rosenior said about Trevoh Chalobah’s ankle injury

It is a huge blow for Chelsea. While Rosenior has chopped and changed in the middle of the defence, Chalobah has been the constant, partnered by Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Tosin and Jorrel Hato.

Speaking after the game, Rosenior said: “He was really worried. I’ve just checked with the medical team, we’ll obviously scan and assess him tomorrow. Hoping and praying that it’s not as bad as we first feared.”

With Fofana missing on Tuesday night and a doubt for Saturday’s clash against Everton, Rosenior’s options are limited. Rosenior will have to pick from Tosin, Hato, Badiashile, Sarr, and Acheampong.
