The Miami Dolphins have already traded away Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos this week. Will they also move on from Pro Bowl running back De'Von Achane?
On Tuesday, the Dolphins agreed to send Waddle and their fourth-round pick (111th overall) to the Broncos in exchange for their first-round pick (30th), third-round pick (94th) and fourth-round pick (130th). Now that Waddle is out of the picture, it's safe to say the Dolphins are entering a rebuild. That's why fans are worried Achane could be available for the right price.
Achane, the 84th overall pick from the 2023 NFL Draft, has been an excellent weapon for the Dolphins over the past few seasons. He took his game to another level in 2025, racking up 1,838 scrimmage yards and 12 total touchdowns.
Even though Achane would most likely net the Dolphins a strong return, ESPN's Adam Schefter said they're not interested in trading him.
"Teams that have called the Miami Dolphins to inquire about trading for Pro-Bowl RB De'Von Achane have been told that he is not available," Schefter said.
What's next for De'Von Achane?
Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has expressed his desire to have a physical offensive line with explosive playmakers on the perimeter.
"We've got to be dominant on the offensive line and dominate on the defensive line," Sullivan said. "Then, get explosive and athletic on the perimeter where we can attack all three levels of the field and give the offensive coordinator flexibility to call the game the way that he wants to call the game, most importantly, in any element."
Well, the Dolphins already have a true game changer in Achane. Since they're not expected to trade him, a long-term extension could be on the horizon.
