The Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs do not like each other very much. In recent history, they have faced off twice in the Super Bowl against each other and each franchise has taken home one championship.
While the two teams are no fan of each other, they are both known for being aggressive when it comes to building out the roster. Could they become trade partners during the 2026 NFL offseason?
A.J. Brown has been the hottest name in the NFL rumor mill. Entering the offseason, he was widely expected to be traded. No move has happened yet, but the Eagles remain in discussions with interested teams.
So far, the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots have been rumored to be the front-runners in a potential Brown trade. The Chiefs have now entered the mix as a potential contender to acquire the star wide receiver.
Philadelphia Eagles Linked to Potential A.J. Brown Trade With Chiefs
Bleacher Report’s Joseph Zucker provided an update look at the potential Brown trade market on March 17. He included both the Rams and Patriots, but included Kansas City as well.
“The Chiefs are only $9.7 million under the salary cap, so GM Brett Veach would have to find some more savings to bring Brown to Kansas City,” Zucker wrote. “When the draft hasn’t yielded a worthy successor to Tyreek Hill, the front office may prefer to go for a sure thing.”
At the end of the day, the Eagles need to get the most they can out of a Brown trade. Even tough they likely would prefer not to ship Brown to the Chiefs, that might end up being their best offer.
Howie Roseman has been asking for a hefty price in exchange for Brown. There have been no takers at that price. However, as the NFL offseason continues forward, offers could become more aggressive as teams try to push for contention.
A.J. Brown on the Chiefs Would Be an NFL Nightmare
Since the departure of Tyreek Hill, Patrick Mahomes has been clearly missing a big-play wideout down the field. Acquiring Brown from Philadelphia would fix that issue.
Brown is one of the NFL’s most talented wide receivers. In six out of his seven seasons, the 28-year-old wideout has recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards.
After missing out on the playoffs last season, the Chiefs are looking to get back to being a top-tier Super Bowl contender. Travis Kelce has decided to return for at least one more season and the team signed Super Bowl hero running back Kenneth Walker III in free agency.
Should they find a way to acquire Brown from the Eagles, their offense would be in great shape.
Expect to continue hearing rumors about Philadelphia and its star wideout in the coming days and weeks. The Eagles are in no rush to trade Brown, but interested teams will continue negotiating as the offseason moves forward.
