The Seahawks could look to a former Pro Bowler to replace Kenneth Walker.

The Seattle Seahawks are still in search of a starting running back to replace Kenneth Walker after the star signed a new three-year, $43 million contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. Seattle appears confident in both Zach Charbonnet and George Holani.

The challenge is Charbonnet is coming off a season-ending ACL injury. ESPN’s Bill Barnwell believes the Seahawks could address the position in the upcoming NFL draft but also floated an interesting name to watch as a potential cut candidate in the AFC.

Keep an eye on the Tennessee Titans potentially cutting ties with former Pro Bowl running back Tony Pollard, per Barnwell.

“I’ve floated the idea of signing Brian Robinson Jr. from the 49ers, which would make sense in terms of the on-field fit, but that would also potentially cost the Seahawks a compensatory pick,” Barnwell wrote in a March 18, 2026, story titled, “2026 NFL free agency: Big remaining issues for 20 contenders.” “Veterans like Joe Mixon and Najee Harris are coming off injury-impacted seasons of their own.

“Schneider has been comfortable working the draft for backs since Marshawn Lynch left town, and the Seahawks should be able to use a middle-round pick to find a back capable of working alongside Charbonnet. There’s also a chance that somebody like Tony Pollard gets cut in the months to come, which would open up a veteran fit for Seattle.”

Here’s what you need to know about the latest Seahawks rumors.

Potential Seahawks Target Tony Pollard Has Had 4 Straight Seasons Topping 1,000 Rushing Yards

Fans may remember Pollard from his standout days with the Dallas Cowboys, including a Pro Bowl campaign in 2022. Pollard has continued being a top running back during his two seasons with the Titans.

The veteran has posted four straight seasons topping 1,000 yards. Pollard notched 242 carries for 1,082 rushing yards and five touchdowns in 17 starts in 2025. The running back also added 33 catches for 206 receiving yards as well.

Pollard has one season remaining on a three-year, $21.7 million contract with the Titans.

Kenneth Walker on Joining the Chiefs: ‘You Feel Appreciated & Wanted’

Coming off his Super Bowl MVP campaign, losing Walker is a blow to Seattle, but the Seahawks appeared unwilling to pay the running back like the Chiefs. Walker explained why he will be wearing a Chiefs jersey in 2026.

“Winning coaching. Watching over the years, been to plenty of Super Bowls, and you know, they know how to win,” Walker said of the Chiefs, per USA Today’s Ed Easton Jr. “So, I felt like it’s a great fit for me.

“It means a lot, you feel appreciated and wanted, that’s what everybody wants. So, I’m just happy to get in here and be able to get to know the guys and work.”

Seahawks Urged to Add Explosive Running Back to Replace Kenneth Walker

With the exception of signing former Green Bay Packers running back Emanuel Wilson, the Seahawks have been slow to add Walker’s replacement. Seattle Sports’ Brock Huard wants to see the Seahawks add an explosive playmaker at the position.

“As I look at Kenny (McIntosh), I look at George (Holani), I look at this (Wilson) addition, OK, they got some some tractors,” Huard noted in a March 13, episode of “Brock & Salk.” “They got some guys that’ll create some yards after contact like a John Deere tractor, but they don’t have any kind of Mustang, Ferrari (or) Camaro.

“They don’t have anybody that can get outside and be explosive. I would think that’s coming in the draft.”
