Big game player: Kai's first 100 AFC appearances

After coming on against Bayer Leverkusen, Kai Havertz reached a big milestone as he picked up his 100th appearance in our colours.

Kai subbed in for Ebere Eze at Emirates Stadium to face his former side as we reached the quarter-finals with a 3-1 aggregate win.

The German has made a huge impact since his arrival in August 2023, and as he becomes the latest centurion in our squad, we take a look at the numbers behind his AFC career so far.

After first turning out for us in the Community Shield against Manchester City at Wembley, Kai went on to score his first goal in September 2023, converting a penalty in our 4-0 win over Bournemouth.

In his first 100 appearances at the club, Kai has scored 32 times and picked up 13 assists in the process.

No player has picked up more goal contributions than the German in their first 100 appearances under Mikel Arteta.

Kai has made a habit of scoring big goals in big moments.

His first goal from open play was exactly that, heading home at the backpost in the last minute to beat Brentford 1-0 at the Gtech Community Stadium.

During our sensational run of 16 wins in 18 Premier League matches in the second half of 2023/24, Kai netted nine times and provided seven assists, including another dramatic late winner over Brentford.

Despite suffering a serious injury, Kai finished as our top scorer in 2024/25, netting in seven straight games at Emirates Stadium, the joint-longest run at our current home.

Kai then suffered a knee injury in 2025/26, but has still found time to make his mark with big goals. The attacker netted the winning goal against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg, as well as netting the penalty against Leverkusen in the first leg, which helped us progress to a third straight quarter-final.

Only two players have scored more goals since making his debut than Kai Havertz, with Leandro Trossard netting 34 and Bukayo Saka scoring 41. Kai also ranks sixth in assists across the squad.

Kai has formed fine partnerships with both Leo and Bukayo in his time at Arsenal. Saka has assisted Havertz on seven separate occasions, with Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli providing four each for the German.

The assists are reciprocated the other way, with Kai teeing up Bukayo more than any other player, supplying three assists.
