The [Cleveland Browns](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/cleveland-browns) have a decision to make at quarterback, and from the sound of things, it’ll come down to Shedeur Sanders or Deshaun Watson.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, Cleveland is prepared to move forward, at least for now, with Watson and Sanders as its top two options heading into the 2026 season.
“At this point, the Browns are prepared to move forward with Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders as their top two contenders for the 2026 starting job, unless their remaining work on the draft-eligible quarterbacks alters those plans,” Cabot [reported](https://www.cleveland.com/browns/2026/03/will-the-browns-try-to-trade-for-colts-qb-anthony-richardson-were-they-in-on-malik-willis-browns-insider.html).
That wording leaves the door open for someone else to come in, but it also shows where things stand at the moment.
Watson is the established player in the room, while Sanders is a potential long-term answer with some upside.
The issue here is that Watson has struggled in Cleveland and Sanders wasn’t great for the Browns last season in his rookie campaign.
The draft will also give the Browns a chance to draft another QB, if they want to go that route.
For now, though, the Browns seem content with moving forward with their two guys as options.
