Chicago Bears add depth at defensive line

LAKE FOREST, Ill., — The first wave of free agency is in the books and while the Chicago Bears weren't as active as they were a year ago, they still made some moves to try and address some needs. Now, on Wednesday they added another depth piece to the defensive line.

Per Ian Rapoport, the Bears have agreed to a deal with former Tennessee Titans and Minnesota Vikings defensive lineman James Lynch on Wednesday. It's a one-year deal for the veteran who has appeared in 71 career games over the last five years. Lynch has 98 total tackles, 7 quarterback hits, 3.5 sacks, and three pass deflections over that span.

Lynch becomes the third defensive tackle the Bears have added in free agency so far. They lost Andrew Billings to the Arizona Cardinals after he spent a few seasons with the team.
