Hollywood Brown already has Jalen Hurts' back after signing with Eagles

Jalen Hurts has a fan in new [Philadelphia Eagles](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/philadelphia-eagles) wide receiver Hollywood Brown.

The Eagles signed Brown to a one-year deal in free agency and during a recent podcast appearance, [Brown revealed](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/25408186-hollywood-brown-defends-jalen-hurts-critics-after-landing-eagles-contract-nfl-free-agency) that his desire to play with Hurts dates back to their days in college.

"I've always been a fan of Jalen Hurts," Brown said during an appearance on _Speakeasy_ with former NFL players Emmanuel Acho and LeSean McCoy, “When he came to Oklahoma was when I was coming into the league, and I was considering staying in school to play with him.”

Brown ultimately entered the draft as opposed to staying in school to play Hurts, but now seven years later, that opportunity to catch passes from Hurts presented itself.

Brown has played with some elite quarterbacks during his time in the NFL, including Lamar Jackson and Patrick Mahomes. But when it comes to Hurts, Brown pointed to one specific skill that he’s excited about benefitting from.

"I personally feel like he's one of the top vertical passers in the league," Brown said of Hurts. "His deep ball is great. ... That's attractive to a receiver. You know he's putting it on the money. And on third down when it matters, money downs, he can make it happen however he's gotta do it. It don't matter how it looks, he's gonna make it happen."
