Miley Cyrus addressed Super Bowl halftime show rumors during a recent interview with Variety.
She also explained her one condition for accepting the role of halftime performer.
Elsewhere in the interview, she revealed more details about her upcoming Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special.
Ever since Bad Bunny’s history-making performance at the 2026 Super Bowl, fans have been wondering who the next halftime show headliner would be. According to FanDuel, Miley Cyrus tops the list of artists predicted to play next year at SoFi Stadium for Super Bowl LXI, even ahead of Taylor Swift. And after weeks of speculation, Miley finally addressed the Super Bowl halftime show rumors during an interview with Variety, saying she “could find it in” herself to take on the role.
When asked whether she would accept an offer to perform, Miley said, “I always think the Super Bowl feels like too much pressure. I would have to do the mental work of making it not about the Super Bowl, because then you can’t help but go, ‘It’s millions of people, and it’s the most-watched thing in the world.’”
However! She went on to add, “But if I could find a way to make it exactly what the Hannahversary was—taking a journey through the discography and appreciating each song, each era for what it is—I think I could find it in myself.”
Noted!!
Elsewhere in the interview, Miley opened up about her upcoming Hannah Montana 20th anniversary special and what fans could expect. “We did not want irony. This is not a joke,” she said of the special (and particularly of performing “Best of Both Worlds” for the first time since 2008).
She continued, “I didn’t want this to be a viral moment. My point of doing this was not to break the internet.” Her point: to make the fans “feel seen,” noting, “My entire life is because of that loyalty.”
Oh, and fun fact: Miley revealed that her fellow Disney alum (and Hannah Montana special guest) Selena Gomez makes a cameo, which was apparently arranged by Call Her Daddy host Alex Cooper and a total surprise to Miley.
“I love Selena, but I didn’t know how much our friendship meant to the fans,” Miley added.
March 24 can’t get here soon enough!!
