The Baltimore Ravens have been busy this offseason as they look to get back to being a legitimate Super Bowl contender in the AFC.

After missing the playoffs entirely last season, the Ravens decided to make aggressive changes. John Harbaugh was removed as head coach and replaced by Jesse Minter. Baltimore has also taken a very strong approach to the NFL offseason.

First, it looked like the Ravens were going to trade two first-round picks to the Las Vegas Raiders for Maxx Crosby. However, they ended up backing out of that deal, keeping their picks, and signing former Cincinnati Bengals star Trey Hendrickson.

In addition to the Hendrickson signing to bolster the pass rush, Baltimore has also added guard John Simpson, safety Jaylinn Hawkins, and center Danny Pinter.

With that being said, the Ravens could use more help for superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson. They almost landed a dynamic playmaker at the wide receiver position.

Baltimore Ravens Almost Signed New Wide Receiver

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was a free agent this offseason. He ended up signing with the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year deal worth up to $6.5 million, but revealed that he strongly considered coming back to Baltimore.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz shared the information that Brown revealed about the Ravens.

Brown would have been a nice addition for the Baltimore offense. With DeAndre Hopkins still a free agent and seemingly tracking towards leaving the Ravens, the team will need to bring in another wideout or two.

Jackson is coming off of a down season that saw him dealt with multiple injury issues. He threw for 2,549 yards, 21 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in 13 games, completing 63.6 percent of his passes. In addition, he also ran for 349 yards and two touchdowns.

Marquise “Hollywood” Brown Could Help Eagles Replace A.J. Brown

Now that he has chosen to sign with the Eagles, Brown could become part of the equation to replacing star wideout A.J. Brown. The latter has been linked in NFL trade rumors this offseason.

Hollywood is coming off of a 2025 season with the Kansas City Chiefs that saw him play in 16 games. He caught 49 passes for 587 yards and five touchdowns.

At 28 years old, Brown is no longer the rising star that he once was during his first tenure with Baltimore. He has struggled to play at the level he showed with the Ravens since leaving town the first time around.

That being said, Baltimore will need to shift its focus to other free agent wide receivers. Hopkins coming back could still end up being an option as well.

Expect to hear more rumors about the Ravens as the offseason continues forward. They will need to invest into Jackson at the wide receiver position, whether that be in free agency or the 2026 NFL Draft.
