AZ Alkmaar midfielder Kees Smit has opened up about his admiration for Spanish football, admitting that a future move to La Liga would strongly appeal to him amid mounting speculation linking him with CHELSEA.

“[I’d like to play in] La Liga. Playing there would be great,” Smit is quoted as saying on the YouTube channel Supergaande. I love the sun; I’m tired of playing in so much cold and rain, so I’d love to go and play in Spain.”
He added: “Ideally, I’d like take the next step at another team in the Netherlands, but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I never considered leaving AZ. My dream was to play here for the rest of my life.”
The teenager, who has been a key figure for AZ Alkmaar this campaign, has built a reputation for his vision, passing range and tactical intelligence—qualities often associated with the Spanish game. His comments are likely to fuel further speculation that clubs from La Liga could soon rival Premier League sides for his signature.
