Former Philadelphia Eagles running back Boston Scott has officially retired from the National Football League. He was drafted out of Louisiana Tech and taken by the New Orleans Saints in the sixth round of the 2018 draft. He would make the 53-man roster before being waived before the season started and would join their practice squad. The Eagles would sign him to the team, and he spent six seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and was one of the fan favorite players, known as ‘The Giant Killer’ for having big games against the New York Giants.
Scott played in 75 career games with the team recording 302 carries for 1,295 yards (4.3 yards per attempt) with 16 rushing touchdowns as well as 71 catches on 90 targets for 566 yards (8.0 yards per reception) with one receiving touchdown. After the 2023 season, the Eagles would let him go, and Scott would look to continue his NFL career. However, he would not get back on the field for a game as he spent the 2024 season with the Los Angeles Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers as part of the practice squad. Scott would not find a team for 2025.
It will be interesting to see if he winds up signing a one-day contract with the Philadelphia Eagles as the 30-year-old ends his playing career.
