Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are not on the same page as the regular season nears its end. While the team is considering shutting him down due to ongoing injury issues, Giannis wants to keep playing.
With less than a month left in the NBA regular season, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks are at odds over whether the two-time MVP should finish out the remaining 14 games.
According to The Athletic, the Bucks have made it clear to their franchise centerpiece that it might be in everyone's best interest for him to sit out, as Milwaukee sits 6.5 games behind the Charlotte Hornets for the final Play-In Tournament spot.
Despite missing 32 games this season due to injuries, Antetokounmpo has informed the team he has no desire to end his season early.
There have even been multiple meetings over Antetokounmpo's status in the last 24 hours since his hyperextended knee diagnosis, per Shams Charania.
The 10-time All-Star has been on a minutes limit this season while working through injuries to his calf, groin, ankle, and knee. He has appeared in 36 games, averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in 28.9 minutes per game.

The latest setback came on Sunday, when Antetokounmpo suffered a left knee hyperextension in the third quarter of the Bucks' 134-123 victory over the Indiana Pacers.
A team source confirmed that he is still injured and not yet cleared to play, with an official update expected once his status changes.
