Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is reportedly attracting interest from three top European clubs.

The 54-year-old Italian was appointed as the club’s new sporting director in March last year, replacing former Arsenal player Edu Gaspar, who officially stepped down from the role in November 2024.

Since joining the Gunners, Berta has overseen the arrivals of Viktor Gyökeres, Martin Zubimendi, Piero Hincapié and Eberechi Eze.

He has also negotiated new long-term contracts for key players such as William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães and Bukayo Saka.

His impressive work at the Emirates has not gone unnoticed, with Arsenal potentially already facing a battle to keep him.

Three European clubs lurking

According to Foot Mercato, Bayern Munich, Manchester City and AS Monaco are all closely monitoring Berta.

Bayern Munich currently have two sporting directors — Max Eberl and Christoph Freund — but Berta has now emerged as a potential target.

Manchester City could undergo major changes this summer and, with Pep Guardiola potentially leaving, Berta has attracted interest within the club.

Ligue 1 side AS Monaco are also considering him as a potential successor to current sporting director Thiago Scuro, should he depart.

As it stands, there is nothing more than interest. Berta is currently working on new deals for Jurrien Timber and Declan Rice.
