Sam Allardyce reckons£100m midfielder might be signing for Chelsea

Sam Allardyce has added his voice to the growing clamor for Chelsea to move for Elliot Anderson, suggesting that the former Newcastle man’s age and ability make him an ideal candidate.

The summer transfer window is set to be an interesting one for Chelsea, with a top-five spot dictating exactly what might happen.

Enzo Fernandez added fuel to the fire by putting his future in doubt after the PSG defeat, and he might not be the only one weighing things up.

However, it’s just as important to add some experience in the summer, which is something that BlueCo are now considering after being completely against it.

That won’t stop the usual recruitment of younger players, though, with Elliot Anderson on the radar.

Do you think Chelsea should sack Liam Rosenior? Or are you willing to give him more time?🤔

Elliot Anderson tipped for a move to Chelsea

Speaking on the Tippy Tappy Football podcast, Sam Allardyce seems to think that Elliot Anderson is perfect for Chelsea.

“He might be at Chelsea. He’s a good age for the Chelsea boys, he’s in their category, young and talented.”

Anderson has been linked with a move to Chelsea already, and has spoken ahead of a potential move in the summer transfer window.

“I’m just focusing on my football at the moment and performing and trying to give everything to Nottingham Forest. That’s all that’s on my mind. It’s been a big two years [at Forest].

“I think I’ve done really well, to be honest, in the time I’ve been here. I’ve matured on and off the pitch. It’s thanks to the club for giving me that platform to go out there and play and let me do my stuff.”

Elliot Anderson would be perfect for Chelsea

Elliot Anderson represents the exact profile of a young talent that has defined Chelsea’s recent recruitment strategy, making him a seamless fit for Liam Rosenior’s evolving squad.

At 23, the Nottingham Forest star has already transitioned into a world-class operator, recently becoming a mainstay in Thomas Tuchel’s England midfield. Anderson also offers the tactical flexibility to play as a disciplined number six or a driving box-to-box presence.

However, Nottingham Forest want somewhere in the region of £100 million for Anderson.
