New Denver Broncos wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is entering a room with a lot of talent.
He made sure to shout many of those guys out in his introductory conference call with the Denver media on Wednesday.
Waddle is officially a member of the Broncos as he passed his physical and the trade has been announced by the team.
Denver head coach Sean Payton and GM George Paton pulled off the blockbuster, sending a first-round and third-round pick to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for Waddle. The two franchises also swapped fourth-round selections.
Waddle was asked specifically about the wide receiver room and mentioned Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant and Lil’Jordan Humphrey.
“It’s going to be a fun group. They got a lot of talent. Court, Marv, Troy, Pat, Lil’Jordan. I’m here to help in every fashion, making plays and learning. I’m excited to learn from them and them to learn from me, so it should be fun. It should be great,” Jaylen Waddle said.
Waddle should immediately be a top target for QB Bo Nix to go along with Sutton and perhaps tight end Evan Engram. He may take snaps from the likes of Mims, Franklin and Bryant, but it’s great he’s embracing teaching them his best practices while also being open to learning as well.
Plus, Jaylen Waddle joins a Broncos team that went 14-3 last year and was a Nix broken ankle away from likely playing in the Super Bowl. He goes to a contender, leaving the rebuilding Dolphins behind. He was gracious about his time in Miami, but you can tell he’s pumped to be with Denver.
“It’s exciting. You know, just playing with great players. Everyone was talking about how great and close the team is, so I’m excited to be around the guys, get to know them and they get to know me and go from there,” Waddle said.
The Broncos finally made their big move of the offseason. Jaylen Waddle is officially in the Mile High City and said all the right things during his first interview as a member of a new team.
